Hey guys, just posted this on a forum thread over at GKIC

Hey Floris, a free report is a great way to generate leads.

The biggest tips I can give you are to understand that you’re the expert in the field so you should be the expert in your market. So take that expertise that you have and use it to answer questions that your market may have before they would do business with you.

So what are your market’s concerns and questions that they typically ask? What are the things that maybe your website doesn’t cover that you can answer in a free report? Take those big questions that would make your customers comfortable doing business with you and put those in the free report. And it not only sells the free report, but once they’re done, they should see you as the market leader and somebody they wanna do business with.

So it doesn’t necessarily matter how you’re going to deliver it. A free download is as good as anything else. As long as you’re getting their information – make sure the report has enough info that they would absolutely want it and once they’ve read it, that it clearly defines you as the go-to business in that market and you’ll do well.

Hope that helps,

- JR
