[Advice] Off-line to On-line Marketing

Hey guys, just posted this on a forum thread over at GKIC

My company provides interactive, cross-channel mobile marketing services to bridge the gap from off-line to on-line.  For instance, you can capture the contact information of 50-90% of a room full of people during a speaking engagement in under 5 minutes, and follow-up with them immediately.  What are you doing to bring your prospects from off-line to on-line?"

Hey Kristin, that’s a great question it’s something that a lot of business owners struggle with but I do think it is important to address.

One of my biggest tips would be just to use every chance you can to collect an email address or to use the internet to send them extra information or stay in touch with them, maybe a newsletter. Every time somebody makes a purchase maybe ask for their email address. On receipts you can put an opt-in for a free bonus or free report. A lot of times, your merchant account will allow you to place a message on your receipt. You could put down at the bottom for a bonus gift, a bonus coupon or join our newsletter visit this website and you could put your url for the free report or coupons or newsletter.

So I would just try to find any opportunity you can to get them online, QR codes are good idea as were mentioned here but when you’re interacting with your customer, try to get that info or try to find some reason to entice them to go online. They need have something beneficial to them to actually do so. I wouldn’t worry too much about competition online. I know a lot of people have concerns about that but your market is probably not living in cave, they’ve probably been online before and are using the internet a lot. Although Walter had some great tips that he had there with coming up with some custom names for some of the services you do, which makes it seem more like you got something different form the competition. So those are great ideas.

But I wouldn’t worry too much about your market going to other competitors online. Just do what you can to get them online and have a reason and a plan to use that information.

Hope that helps, good luck!
