[Advice] Should young entrepreneurs confirm their marketing plan with a professional marketing firm before deployment?

Hey guys, just answered a question over on Quora

This question was asked:

"The web service that we're building is almost complete, and we're ready to market it. The problem is that we have a strategy we want to use but none of us have much marketing experience. Would it be a good idea to run this by a consultant or firm before trying our plan? The reason we want to do this is... we've worked so hard building this service we don't want to screw up our reputation by making a marketing mistake."

Marketing can make or break a business. So it is definitely worth making sure that you have a plan for your marketing.

But make sure you understand that you are looking for expert advice. Often times people try to tell the expert how they think everything should be. So take the advice and use it. ;-)
