Hey guys, just answered a question over on Quora
This question was asked:
"We're a 100-person B2B company with a small team contributing to several company blogs. We use SEOMoz (although not very heavily). I think we need to get better in the free lead generation department - what would be the best way to invest in this? Is it hiring a dedicated SEO Analyst, a Project/Product Marketing Manager, or does it need to be a team-wide effort?"
I'm not 100% sure I understand what you are asking but I will try to help.
It sounds like you have an in house team that is creating content on company blogs. And you are looking to make sure that you are taking advantage of this and using it to generate leads. Hopefully, the blogs that they are putting content on are generating traffic and they are connected to your main site. The idea of course would be to use those blogs as a means to bring in search traffic. But once those people are there, do you have a clear path for them to get more info or to take action on something? As far as "free lead generation" I assume you mean generating leads from the SEO traffic? If so, making sure that you have a clear call to action on the blogs and your main site is a good way to do this. Some will use a "Call for more info" CTA. You can also offer a free report or free information kit. My personal recommendation for clients is to use both. Have a clear way to contact you for more questions or to do business with you. But also for those who may not be 100% sure and ready to call, a free report or info kit. You can use an autoresponder service to handle the opt-in. This way, they get more info and you have their info.Hopefully that answers your question, if not and you would like further help, feel free to contact me here http://redwallmarketing.com/company/jr-griggs- JR
