[Advice] Are Newspapers following the correct Social Media Strategy?

Hey guys, just answered a question over on Quora

This question was asked:

"The Mayority of Newspapers who have a social media account ( Twitter, Facebook) are just tweeting or positing to their followers News information. Although this is their JOB in the Media World, there is little or non Human interaction.

What actions can they make to make the brand more human?"

I would say if any company can get away with just posting links a lot and having it be effective, it would be a newspaper or news station. People will be following them for exactly that. Many news feeds on Twitter get a ton of ReTweets from their followers.

That said however, it would be very smart to add some human elements. Maybe tweet a story and ask for followers thoughts on it. This would separate being one of many news feeds on Twitter, to being THE news feed on Twitter.

Hope that helps,

- JR
